 Course Description:   This course teaches child care providers, parents, grandparents, educators and others critical skills and the knowledge needed to respond and to manage illness and injuries in the child or infant until emergency medical services arrive.  Designed to meet the regulatory requirements for child care workers in all 50 states (US).  The course covers first aid basics, including finding the problem, stopping bleeding, bandaging, relieving choking, using an epinephrine pen, as well as, child CPR AED, Infant CPR.  (Optional modules are available that cover asthma-care training for childcare providers and adult CPR AED.) 

Certification Period:  2 years

Intended Audience:  This course is designed for childcare / daycare providers, parents, grandparents, nannies, babysitters, teachers, other educators, as well as anyone responsible to care for children.

Required Materials: Heartsaver® Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Student Workbook

The American Heart Association mandates each student must have have the student manual to attend training.

The BLS instructor renewal Course is designed to assist American Heart Association (AHA) BLS instructors maintain current instructor status. Instructors currently aligned with our Training Site required to attend this renewal course before their instructor status expires. Criteria for Instructor Renewal Eligibility. Instructors MUST have taught at least FOUR courses in the last 2 years AND be monitored teaching OR attend an instructor renewal course. Must show Proof.
